VOLTA & FESTIVAL GROUP TOUR (7 DAYS)

Day 1:
In the morning we will pick you up in an air-conditioned vehicle: Accra location of your choice.

Visit Shai Hills early in the morning to spend some time watching the local wildlife, like kobs and baboon troops. Afterwards we will visit the famous Cedi Beads Workshop, where you will be shown the manufacturing process. Arrive at the Asenema Falls, one of the hidden gems in Ghana.


Day 2:
 Tour the Akosombo Dam, holding Volta Lake, the world´s 2nd largest man-made lake. Continue towards Mountain Gemi, one of the tallest mountains in Ghana. After a 20 minutes hike to the top of the mountain, we will continue to the nearby waterfalls. Spend the night on top of the mountain area in Amedzofe and enjoy the beautiful view from your room.


Day 3: 
Start the day with a visit of the Tafi Abuife Kente Village, which carries on the centuries-old Kente-weaving tradition. Stop at a banana plantation on your way. Visit the Monkey Sanctuary and enjoy feeding bananas to the endemic monkeys, who have been protected and restored by the local people through an eco-tourism project. Visit Wli Falls close to Mountain Afadjato. Do a short hiking tour to the lower falls to see one of the most beautiful nature sights in Ghana.

 

Day 4:

We continue our journey to Mount Afadjato in the morning, which is the highest mountain in Ghana. Hike to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view. Continue to Volta Lake to do a relaxing canoeing ride in the afternoon.

 

Day 5:

 Today we will attend the Millet Festival, which is a colourful celebration among the Krobo people and the chiefs. During the celebrations the Krobo people will ask the ancestral spirits for protection for the coming year.

 

Day 6:

 We continue to Dzita, located at the beach in Volta Region and known for its wide sandy beaches. Do a relaxing canoe ride, swim in the salt-water lagoon and take a walk at the beautiful beach site in the afternoon.

 

Day 7:

 Relax at the beautiful beach site in the morning and watch the fishermen pulling their nets close to the lodge. Later we will visit the local community to learn about the typical life in this area. In the afternoon we continue our journey back to Accra.
